Connie Dandurand - Meet the Artist!

If you’ve visited the bakery, you’ve likely seen beautiful pieces of art by Connie Dandurand. She paints serene scenes on canvas that take you to a peaceful place, and you can watch her in action on July 11th from 3p-5p! Connie will be painting one of her many masterpieces right here in the bakery and hopes you’ll pop in to say hi. Connie’s bio is below!

Connie Dandurand

Thank you for spending time with my art.

I really enjoy plein air.  There is nothing like painting a landscapes outdoors, in pleasant weather. Considering the Pacific Northwest weather, I take a lot of photos and finish in my studio.  There have been times I've painted animals and a few portrait.

For the last few years, I've painted with oils and acrylics.  There is always more to explore and I enjoy the process.  If my paintings bring a smile to your face, a sense of peace and a moment to be delighted, that is my goal and purpose.

I am a Washingtonian.  I was born in Olympia, lived in Lacy and then Fife.  After attending Mills College in Oakland, California and meeting my husband in San Francisco, we moved to Boston.  We moved back to raise our boys in Arlington and since 2006 we have lived in Seabeck.

Although I am self-taught, I've benefited from occasional art instructors and lectures.  My first steps to painting are simple: Show up to the easel; pick up the brush; once I make that first mark, something like a "door" opens.

The possibilities are endless.
